1- Why is some information on this site incomplete?
We are trying to input all the pages as soon as possible, so please be patient until we are up and running at full steam.
Your contributions and suggestions are however always welcome.
2- Why aren't my dojo details entered in full?
The information on the site is that which was available to us. If we have missed anything or wrongly entered information regarding your dojo or members please contact us with updated information.
3- Why is there only a black belt register?
The reasons are simple. There are many karateka out there and with grading taking place every three months and with over fifty dojos around the country, it will be very difficult to update the site and enter everyone. Work harder and get that coveted black belt!
4- What is the BKK Chat?
We are hoping that BKK members will use this facility to chat to each other via the Internet. Members can simply talk karate or generally chat. IFK members and other karateka are also welcome to use the facility to know more about the BKK and its members.
5- Why aren't there more photos in the photo library?
We totally rely on members who carry cameras to tournaments to send in the photos. So if have some old photos of early competitions or more recent ones please scan them and email them to us. If you do not have a scanner please send us photos by post and we will scan them and return them to you. Your contribution will be acknowledged. We are hoping that members will respond to this invitation so that we will have a more comprehensive photo gallery for all to enjoy. Don't forget to include information on the photos you send!
6- Why are the profiles limited to a few high grades only?
At the moment we have included profiles of Hanshi Arneil and the Shihans in the BKK. We shall be adding more profiles in time and will include other karateka of all levels from the BKK.
7- Who can supply information regarding individual dojo events?
Any member of a dojo with a computer and permission from the main instructor can supply information on their dojo events.
If you have an annual calendar of events for your dojo you can send it to us and we will make it available on the site.
8- Can the site include more details on aspects of karate?
With time the site will expand and will hopefully include information on the history of the martial arts, the philosophy of karate, kata, terminology, and of course articles by members of the organisation. These will be listed under "other headings".
9- Where can I get supplies?
Generally, all you will require for the syllabus work can be obtained through your dojo. You can ask the secretary of your club or your instructor.
There are some good books on Kyokushinkai but you will need to either get the ISBN number from someone who has a copy, or search through a library or the Internet. Some books and videos on Kyokushinkai can be borrowed from local libraries provided you know what you are looking for.
Early versions of Sosei Oyama's books are collectors' items and fetch a premium now. If you are able to lay your hands on a copy from a book fair or through a friend you will be one of the lucky few!
